Ginny Arnott-Wood
Ginny Arnott-Wood, BA, CFP®, CIM® Wealth Advisor, Associate Portfolio Manager

I began my financial services career in 1997 working as an Investment Advisor for a bank-owned firm. I cut my teeth learning how to evaluate and trade bonds for protection and income in client portfolios; how to choose high quality stocks to help their wealth grow over time; and how to ensure that all the investment advice we provided was based on listening to what clients wanted for the future, and how we could help them get there.

During my career I've lived through 4 major market corrections: the Asian currency crisis of 1997; the bursting of the Dot-com bubble and the 9-11 attacks in 2001 - 02; and of course the truly frightening financial melt-down and subsequent recession of 2008; and the abrupt global downturn in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. These crises taught me that one of the most important parts of my job was to remain calm in the face of market turbulence. From Bre-Ex to Brexit, clients have looked to me to put a sound portfolio together for them, based on their risk tolerance (or lack thereof). They expect me to be able to articulate why markets are volatile, how it affects them specifically, and what we need to do (or not do) in the face of a market downturn. Often, they just want to know I'm there, on the case, keeping an eye, and assuring them that I'm taking a disciplined, non-emotional approach to help them meet their goals over the long term.

Today, I'm thrilled to be able to offer discretionary portfolio management, through the Raymond James Private Investment Management Group (PIMG) program. Adding to that is my growing focus on responsible investments as a means to provide an additional layer of due diligence to the investment process. I’m proud to be a member of the Responsible Investment Association. Whether you choose to be actively involved in investment selection or not, with the help of our Raymond James partners and proprietary screening tools we have the resources and the expertise to build you a better portfolio, and hopefully, build a better world at the same time.
