When you grow up on a hog farm, you learn the value of hard work, responsibility, team work, and the importance of family.

While life on the farm was important during my formative years, I knew that I was destined for other things, and studied at McMaster University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. My financial services career began shortly thereafter when, in 1986, I began working at a small brokerage firm in Toronto.

I learned the business at a grass roots level, participating in everything from Canada Savings Bonds campaigns to mutual fund position reconciliations. Over time my responsibilities grew, until eventually I was part of senior management at a major bank-owned firm, leading service teams to deliver outstanding and award-winning client service.

This is where I became really passionate about delivering excellent client service. Like producing a stage play, both Ginny, and I conduct activities that take place on the “front stage” – connecting directly with clients, learning what your needs and preferences are, ensuring that your questions and concerns are heard and acted upon in a timely manner. We strive for our “front stage” performance to be a wonderful experience for you.

Of course this is only possible because of our attention to what goes on “back stage” – setting up internal systems to check and monitor client portfolios, transactions, communicating and coordinating efforts with all the folks in many departments who are dedicated to ensuring your satisfaction.

In my spare time I’m a gardener, a home renovator, and I love to spend time with my family, especially my mum who needs extra care these days. Things and times change – my brother runs the farm now, and he raises crops instead of pigs. But some things never go out of style: organization skills, candor, honesty, insight and a sense of humour – these qualities have helped me, over many years, to look after clients through all sorts of challenging times.
