Brian Martyn, BBA, CIM® Senior Financial Advisor

As a senior financial advisor and proponent of evidence-based (indexed) investing, I welcome you to explore the services we deliver and the processes we employ here at Lighthouse Investment Services of Raymond James Ltd.

At Lighthouse Investment Services, we sit down and first learn your unique financial circumstances; from there, we develop your personalized investment plan and implementation, while remaining disciplined and consistent in our approach.

Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) is an ever-increasing part of what we do for our clientele. This academia-based index like investment process has risen to be one of the top 10 largest money managers in the US, according to Morningstar.

Our advice is always unbiased and never influenced by inhouse asset management or any commercial lending operations. We act for you and in your best interests, and provide the greatest value to households with between $250,000 and $1 million of investible assets. This is achieved using direct stock investing, separately managed accounts (SMA’s), mutual funds and exchange traded funds (ETF’s), bonds and over 25 distinct third party GIC issuers.

I’m originally from Cambridge, ON and relocated to Windsor in 1995. I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, specializing in finance. I have also completed numerous Canadian Securities Institute courses including the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation.

I reside in the Riverside area with my two young adult children, Eric and Julia. My hobbies and interests include boating, reading, traveling and anything automotive. I also have a cottage in Grand Bend which has allowed me to grow my services to the local beach community.

Wendy Weddell is my assistant who does an excellent job in helping to facilitate tasks. Her direct contact is wendy.weddell@raymondjames.ca

The Chartered Investment Manager® (CIM®) Designation builds the skills and experience we need to serve a more sophisticated financial client or institution. Financial professionals who hold the CIM® designation are eligible for registration as a Portfolio Manager in Canada. They have expertise in providing money management services to high-net-worth and institutional clients, and they understand the application of portfolio management in the context of Canadian markets and regulatory requirements

What do these designations mean for you? They mean that when you work with an investment consultant who has taken the time to complete these designations, you’re working with someone who is well-versed in modern concepts of investment advice, is educated enough to understand how your individual investments are being managed and how they work together – no matter how complex it may be. These skills, along with a commitment to advanced education, enable them to provide you with the kind of service that you not only want, but deserve.
