Rhonda Sherwood brings more than 30 years of wealth advisory experience and a deep commitment to client-focused financial planning to her role as Financial Advisor at Raymond James.
She began her career in 1989 with a bank-owned firm, progressing through roles as Personal Banking Officer, Financial Planner, and Investment Manager. Prior to joining Raymond James in 2016, she spent 15 years as a trusted Wealth Advisor with the full-service brokerage division of her previous firm.
Rhonda holds a Liberal Arts diploma from Simon Fraser University and completed accounting studies at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. She is a Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®), a Financial Management Advisor (FMA®), and holds the Responsible Investment Advisor Certification (RIAC). The RIAC designation reflects her expertise in integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into investment decision-making. She is also licensed in both securities and insurance.
Throughout her career, Rhonda has been actively involved in advancing her profession and contributing to her community. She has served on the FP Canada Standards Council and as a Public Policy Ambassador, helping support the development and promotion of professional financial planning standards. She has also contributed to financial education initiatives through roles such as the Douglas College Financial Services Advisory Council and as an editorial advisor within the financial services industry.
Rhonda has held a number of governance and community leadership roles. She served as Trustee on the Vancouver Public Library Board and chaired its Finance, Services & Human Resources Committee. She also served as Treasurer and Director with the BC Library Trustees Association and as Chair of the City of Vancouver’s Women’s Advisory Committee. In addition, she has contributed to mentorship and education initiatives with organizations including Simon Fraser University’s Mentors in Business Program, Junior Achievement of British Columbia, the Minerva Foundation for BC Women, and the Vancouver Board of Trade.
Earlier in her community involvement, Rhonda volunteered with the BC SPCA, serving on the Vancouver/Burnaby Community Council and later as Chair of Council and Volunteer Program Coordinator, supporting education, advocacy, community engagement, and fundraising initiatives.
Beyond finance, Rhonda is deeply committed to animal welfare, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. A long-time vegan, she supports a variety of animal advocacy initiatives and believes strongly in protecting the natural world and respecting Indigenous communities and their connection to the land. She strives to reflect these values through both her personal choices and philanthropic support.
