Chris joined 3Macs in 2006 after a lengthy career in private investment. He has founded, invested in and operated numerous enterprises (public relations, publishing, medical education) in Canada, the U.S. and the United Kingdom. This first-hand business experience lends invaluable perspective to weighing market opportunities and addressing wealth management issues on behalf of his clients. 3Macs became a division of Raymond James Ltd. in October 2016.
Chris' practice caters to business owners, professionals, family trusts and the retired. Where appropriate, he works closely with a network of tax specialists, estate planners and insurance counsel in developing comprehensive wealth management solutions for his clients. He serves clients locally in the Kingston area, in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto, and well beyond.
Chris's Investment Philosophy
Most clients are looking for three things:
- Preservation of their capital
- Reasonable growth of that capital and/or income from it
- A relationship of trust with their advisor.
Chris suggests there is one more crucial priority: Ensuring an adequate return after accounting for the effects of inflation, taxes and fees. Happily, stocks that pay a dividend and regularly increase their dividend can fulfill objectives one, two and four. Solid dividend paying stocks form the core of most of Chris’ client portfolios.
Building custom portfolios upon the foundation described above is what Chris and his team do best. That and a deep commitment to personal service, ethical behaviour and wealth management problem solving are the values that have fostered enduring relationships of trust with his clients.
Chris is a trustee and Chair of the Marine Museum of the Great Lakes and a director of the Community Foundation for Kingston & Area.
