Homebase Charity Team

The Raymond James Kelowna Corporate Branch has been the proud presenting sponsor of the Homebase Tournament in support of the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation since the beginning. This tournament fundraiser is a two-day event. At the Friday feature match between the two NHL teams (Josh Gorges and Blake Comeau) at Elk Stadium, staff from the branch volunteer and represent Raymond James at our sponsor tent. On Saturday, team Raymond James competes in the round robin tournament against teams from across the province and the NHLers.

Homebase 2023 (pictured above) raised over $175K towards providing immediate and innovative funding to our local mental health care providers.

May is RJ Cares Month and this was our seventh year hosting a Shred-It event in support of our local food bank, where we do onsite secure document shredding in exchange for non-perishable food items or cash donation. Our 2023 event pictured above raised a total just shy of $2000, which is the equivalent of $5000 in spending power for our Central Okanagan Food Bank.

Community Involvement Gardening

As part of RJ Cares month, our branch volunteers their time to spruce up the gardens and yard of our local Hospice House. This brings a beautiful outdoor space of peace and tranquility to the residents and their families during their time spent here. Our sixth annual event in 2023 consisted of eight volunteers moving over six yards of black mulch to multiple garden beds in about two and a half hours. The volunteer for COHA was expecting us to finish about half of that in the time slot, so this was quite the accomplishment.
