Francis Cheng has committed to build a better tomorrow for his clients, their loved ones and his community through sustainable investing. The world is forever changing and some of the changes include a complete transformation of the global economy, along with social and political disruptions. Francis will be engaged with the changes to identify the risks and opportunities to make the appropriate investment decisions for each of his clients. He continues building his business model that is not only profitable for his clients, but a model where clients feel valued, heard and understood. He knows that each client’s journey is different and he works hard to help his clients live their dreams of a fulfilling retirement through to the legacy for their loved ones.
Francis Cheng is a portfolio manager and has over three decades in the financial industry. He got into the financial industry, investing more specifically, because it is exciting and he wanted to help people build a better future for themselves. Francis has worked in the government as a financial analyst, been a financial advisor at one of the big Canadian banks and then a portfolio manager at another one before transitioning over to Raymond James Ltd. He made the switch to Raymond James because he shares their core values of conservatism, independence and integrity, along with taking risks in moderation, thinking outside the box and putting the clients’ interests first. Francis has received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo, business diploma from Red Deer College, and holds both his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designations.
When Francis is on his down time you will find him with his loved ones, his wife Jenny, son Corey, daughter Jacquie and his granddaughter Saige. He also enjoys reading, travelling, visiting museums with a deep appreciation for beautiful master pieces. Francis is also very involved in his community. He is always hosting charity events/fundraisers to fight child poverty, hunger and more.
