Thank you to everyone for showing their blue at this year's Raymond James Father's Day Walk/Runs for Prostate Cancer!

On Father's Day this year, 200 representatives from Raymond James joined their communities to raise awareness and funds in the fight against prostate cancer. Together, with a total of 1,340 participants and 342 volunteers, over $350,000 was raised! Our associates across the firm teamed up in many ways to raise awareness and funds in the fight against prostate cancer, the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Canadian men.

"Together, we are committed to making a difference to those individuals and families living with prostate cancer, and to help raise awareness and support for prostate cancer across British Columbia and the rest of Canada," said Paul Allison, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We are so proud to have partnered with Prostate Cancer Foundation BC and stepped forward as a company to team up for the 2016 Father's Day Walk/Run,"

Education around prostate cancer is essential for prevention of the disease. The Raymond James Father's Day Walks/Runs are a powerful way to raise awareness and funds in the fight against prostate cancer, to ensure that cancer is a thing of the past for future generations. There were many walks/runs held across the country on Father's Day this year.

Marc Gosselin, financial advisor, says, "1 in 8. That is why I put in the time and energy into recruiting a team and co-ordinating the Raymond James Father`s Day Walk Run in Chilliwack. This amazing event is an opportunity to create awareness about prostate cancer and to educate the public about how early detection can save lives. Not only do we raise funds and create awareness for this worthy cause, it also elevates the Raymond James brand in our community. Raymond James was in the paper, on the radio, on signage all over the community. Our Raymond James team in Chilliwack even won the top fundraising team, the largest team and the top individual fundraiser awards. In 2016, through the efforts of my volunteers and teammates, we were able to increase the numbers in Chilliwack by 25% in both funds raised and participants versus 2015. Our team now has a goal of doubling the number of participants and funds raised for 2017. I am so proud of everyone who participated in this event either through volunteering, starting a team, joining a team or giving generously. It is amazing to be able to work for a firm who cares enough to give back in such a meaningful way to the communities we serve."
