Raymond James Branch in Montreal Presents Donation to the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation
On May 3, 2016, Mitchell Rosenberg, financial advisor at Raymond James, presented a donation cheque in the amount of $27,154 to the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation on behalf of the Montreal branch.
Funds were raised at a softball game in August 2015 through donations, a raffle, and contributions from the Montreal branch and the Raymond James Canada Foundation. The donation went towards the purchase of an Olympus flexi-rigid thoracoscope, which is used as part of the Montreal Chest Institute's lung cancer staging program to perform a medical thoracoscopy. This impressive piece of equipment allows physicians to perform a faster, less invasive procedure, which helps improve the patient experience and reduce the turnaround time related to starting treatment.
The Montreal Chest Institute is one of only three centres in Quebec capable of performing this procedure, and it is thanks to this equipment that the hospital continually remains at the forefront of innovative respiratory care, research, and teaching.
"The generosity of the Raymond James Canada Foundation and my colleagues in Montreal helped our fundraising efforts to purchase state-of-the-art medical equipment such as this flexi-rigid thoracoscope. Without funds raised by the Montreal Chest Institute Foundation, much of the hospital's research and equipment would not be possible," said Mitchell.
Congratulations to the Raymond James Montreal branch for this great success!
