Alex Fairhurst
Alex Fairhurst, PFP Financial Advisor

I started my career as a financial advisor back in 1996 the same year my first child was born.

I remember it well, taking the risk of a new career whilst becoming a father for the first. Before emigrating from England to Canada, I experienced living and working in Australia and France before calling Canada home.

I have learned that life is a wonderful thing but it can sometimes throw you some curve balls. My job is to plan for these and help you through them all.

When it comes to financial planning, I believe in and adopt the following key strategies to my clients:

  • How much to save for retirement. It is so important to have the right balance of living today whilst planning for tomorrow.
  • Income strategies when you retire. Making sure you have the right amount of income which will last you the rest of your life.
  • Investing for better growth in a tax efficient way. You work hard for your money. My job is to make your money work hard for you.
  • Saving for university costs. Children are expensive. I know that, I have three of them all at university age. I can help you plan ahead using RESPs and benefit from valuable Government grants.
  • Protecting yourself and your family. Like the elephant in the room, life insurance is not something people like to talk about. It does however need to be addressed correctly if you have a spouse or children that rely on you financially.
  • Death and Taxes are two certainties in life. I help my clients to mitigate taxes after death using estate planning strategies.
