Peter Moores is the Chief Executive Officer –designate of Raymond James Ltd. (RJL), the Canadian arm of Raymond James Financial. Since joining Raymond James in 2004, Peter has held diverse leadership roles across the organization. As CEO-designate of RJL, Peter is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the Canadian business, which includes nearly $110 billion in client assets managed by 520 advisors across 150 locations.
Prior to assuming his current role in Canada, Peter served as Chief Executive Officer of Raymond James Investment Services Limited in the UK, leading the firm's wealth management business for more than 20 years. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Raymond James Financial International Limited, overseeing the firm's capital markets and investment banking businesses for over a decade. In addition, Peter was Country Manager for Raymond James' UK operations for more than 10 years. From 2004 to 2025, he played a pivotal role in driving the firm's growth and expansion, helping establish Raymond James as a leading wealth management provider in the UK.
Prior to joining Raymond James, Peter held progressively senior leadership positions across the institutional, asset management, and retail brokerage sectors in the UK and Europe. He began his career with Chase Manhattan Bank after completing the firm's graduate training program in New York, and later held senior positions at DAB Bank AG, including Head of Corporate Development and Chief Executive Officer of its UK subsidiary, SELFtrade UK.
Peter brings more than three decades of financial services experience, including leadership across wealth management, capital markets, business growth, and strategic transformation. He is a supporter of a wide range of industry and community initiatives, including emerging leadership programs and youth and education initiatives.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Business Studies and a Master of Arts from Trinity College Dublin.
