Supporting Brain Health Conversations at TMU's 50+ Festival

As a Platinum Sponsor of the 2026 50+ Festival, held June 22 to 25, The MoneyPower Group at Raymond James was proud to support an event dedicated to helping older adults stay informed, engaged, and connected. Hosted by the Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU), the four-day festival featured a variety of free workshops, expert presentations, and interactive activities designed to support healthy aging and overall well-being.

Held annually during Seniors Month, the festival welcomes participants from across the Greater Toronto Area to explore topics including caregiving, social connection, personal health, and cognitive wellness, while creating opportunities for learning, meaningful dialogue, and community connection.

As part of the festival programming, Justin Johnston, Associate Portfolio Manager with The MoneyPower Group, hosted a viewing of Raymond James' recent Client Insights webinar, Brain Health, Family Decisions and Your Financial Plan, for approximately 50 attendees. The discussion explored how changes in brain health can affect financial decision-making and highlighted the value of having important family conversations early to help support future planning.

"Many of the conversations we have with clients go beyond investments and financial planning," said Justin Johnston. "As we age, protecting our independence and preparing for life's transitions become increasingly important. Supporting events like the TMU 50+ Festival allows us to connect people with practical resources and expert insights that can help them plan confidently for the future."

Throughout the festival, attendees were encouraged to reflect on what independence means to them and to engage in meaningful discussions about aging, wellness, and financial preparedness. The event created valuable opportunities for learning while fostering a greater sense of community and connection.

At Raymond James, we're proud to support initiatives that help Canadians make informed decisions and strengthen the communities where we live and work.
