Raymond James Rides for BC Cancer at Tour de Victoria
On August 15, Raymond James was proud to sponsor the 80-kilometre distance at Ryder Hesjedal's Tour de Victoria. Led by team captain Dee-Ann Mayburry, 18 Raymond James riders from Victoria, Vancouver and Nanaimo joined colleagues, friends and family members for the ride, cycling in support of the BC Cancer Foundation.
Produced by The Ryders Cycling Society of Canada, Tour de Victoria is a fully supported cycling event that showcases Vancouver Island's scenic routes while bringing people together in support of charitable causes.
The event was a natural fit for the Raymond James BC cycling team, which has brought colleagues together for many years through a shared passion for cycling and giving back to their communities. This year also marked the team's first participation in Tour de Victoria.
Through training rides and fundraising efforts, the Raymond James team came together in support of the BC Cancer Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, clients, friends and family members, the team has raised more than $25,000 to date, with donations continuing to come in as the group works toward surpassing its $30,000 fundraising goal to help advance cancer research and care throughout British Columbia.
"Tour de Victoria brought together so many things that made this experience special: spending time with colleagues, taking in the incredible beauty we're fortunate to have here in British Columbia, and supporting a cause that touches so many lives," said Dee-Ann Mayburry, Team Captain and Senior Wealth Advisor, Victoria Branch. “Knowing that every kilometre ridden helped support cancer research and care made every kilometre feel worthwhile, and we're grateful to everyone who cheered us on and contributed along the way.”
