About Bote Miedema

Bote Miedema has been in the investment industry since 2000 as a financial advisor. Before getting in this industry he gained extensive knowledge of business and personal finance by starting, owning and operating several businesses. He has been involved with the intensive farming industry all his life, was raised on a dairy farm in The Netherlands and has experience with dairy and beef cattle, hogs and chickens. Bote and his wife Barbara owned a Home Hardware Store, a True Value Store, a bottled water business, garden centre and a commercial chicken farm in Alberta before they moved to Abbotsford. Bote is also an active member of his church and has been a Director of the Abbotsford Chamber Of Commerce and is currently the President of the Estate Planning Council Of Abbotsford.

He entered the investment business in 2000 in order to use his experience as a business owner to help people define their goals for retirement and help them with their exit strategy from their business and develop a plan to provide an income from their investments. Bote believes that every investment has to be an informed investment and has to fit in the client’s overall portfolio based on their objectives and risk tolerance. He also believes that in order to be a successful investor one must first choose the proper investment strategy and then look for the appropriate investment vehicles to help achieve one’s financial goals.
